Job Search Tips - Employment

Job Search Tips

  1. 85% of available jobs never get posted for the public, because they are filled word of mouth. TIP: Tell everyone you are looking for a job in the Boston area, even before you get here.
  2. When looking for a job, narrow your search as much as possible to a specific type of position and the type of environment you would like to work in. For example, administrative support positions in an education environment. Then you can focus your search on that specific work environment.
  3. Mass mailing your resume is one of the least effective ways of searching for a job. It is always best to make a contact with an individual in a company and direct correspondences to that person.

Seminary Help Wanted Board

In the mailroom lobby, on the South Hamilton campus, there is a “Help Wanted” board. This can be another source in your search.

We receive job listings from business, schools, hospitals and individuals in the area. Listings can include full-time and part-time positions, professional, clerical and technical, etc. Listing can also include; yard work, painting, childcare, eldercare, housecleaning.

New positions are added to this board frequently, so be sure to check this job search source frequently.
