Our Team

In addition to the leaders listed below, Gordon-Conwell has secured a number of expert practitioners who will guide students through lectures, class discussion, and real-life, laboratory-like case studies.

Dr. Mark Harden (PhD, Michigan State University)

In his role as Dean of the Boston campus of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Mark Harden contributes visionary leadership and more than 20 years of combined leadership experience in community service ministry and graduate theological education. He is the lead faculty member for the ThM in Practical Theology.

Dr. Harden served with distinction for a decade at Bethel Seminary, most recently as Dean of Intercultural Relations, Degree Program Director, and Lead Faculty Instructor for Bethel Seminary's Community Ministry Leadership program. In addition, Dr. Harden has more than a decade and a half of professional service experience, most recently as Founder and Interim Executive Director of a citywide collaborative ministry of churches and missions agencies in Detroit, MI.

An ordained Baptist minister, Dr. Harden has served in various pastoral roles since 1983, most recently as Associate Minister of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Minneapolis, MN. He has also been involved in curriculum development and is an experienced speaker both nationally and in Europe and Africa. His professional memberships include the Society for Intercultural Education Training and Research and the Christian Community Development Association.

Dr. Jason Hood (PhD, University of Aberdeen)

Dr. Hood is Director of Advanced Urban Ministerial Education and coordinates the ThM program at Gordon-Conwell's Boston campus. His background includes teaching and coaching in urban Memphis and pastoral ministry at an international English-speaking congregation in Tanzania.  An ordained Anglican minister, Dr. Hood has also published a number of works, including Imitating God in Christ (IVP, 2013) and journal articles in the Journal of Biblical Literature, Bulletin for Biblical Research, and other academic as well as popular outlets.

The remainder of our staff here in Boston also contribute to the success of our ThM program.
