Charlotte MACL Program

Complete your degree in three years, without leaving your ministry or job

A distinctive of the Charlotte campus is its concerted effort to partner with local churches and ministries in the educational experience of its students. All programs are designed and courses sequenced around a modular system that allows students to pursue theological education without having to disengage from their personal and professional ministries.

For years, our hands-on approach to theological education has been accessible to students in Charlotte and surrounding regions. The MACL Intensive Cohort program is designed to deliver the same contextualized theological education, while expanding access to students across the country.

The MACL Intensive Cohort program is our standard Master of Arts in Christian Leadership degree offered in a new format to provide you the opportunity to pursue your theological training without having to leave your ministry setting. In it,

• You have the opportunity to complete the program in three years; you only need to attend three one-week residencies (see schedule below) each year.

• You can satisfy your non-residency requirements through a combination of distance education (Semlink) offerings, reading-based courses and field experience.

• You will learn to develop an integrative approach to education that seeks to understand the Biblical, theological/historical and ministerial foundations of Christian leadership.

• You will benefit from instructors who are academically trained and experientially proven in the field of leadership, and also profit from the relationship you develop with a personal mentor.

• You will have the opportunity not only to participate in learning about team and community, but also to be a part of a collaborative team/community as you progress through the program as a cohort.

Redemptive Leadership

At Gordon-Conwell, we believe that the leader's mindset is one of redemption. Redemptive leaders accomplish the tasks God has set before them, while guiding those they lead into Christ-exalting discipleship. The redemptive leader is as concerned with the character of his disciples as he is their accomplishments.

The Masters of Arts in Christian Leadership degree at Gordon Conwell is unique in that we not only want to develop leaders who are redemptive in mindset but who demonstrate it in their lifestyle. We believe that people follow you and not your technique. Leadership is not merely a set of skills to accomplish a task but is a heart that beats to serve Christ and produce holistic disciples.
