Millions have enjoyed C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia stories since they were published more than 50 years ago. Some have tried to find a unifying theme within the seven books, whether it be the seven deadly sins, seven sacrements of the Roman Catholic Church, etc. Dr. Michael Ward, Ph.D., University of St. Andrews, Scotland, believes that he has finally found that theme. Dr. Ward, author of Planet Narnia: The Seven Heavens in the Imagination of C.S. Lewis, gave a lecture on Gordon-Conwell's South Hamilton campus on April 21, 2008. We sat down with him to discuss his book, why Lewis would keep this theme secret and how the Seven Heavens of Medieval thought influenced Lewis. Listen here.
