Planned Giving

Through a planned gift, you may wish to support the mission of Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in the training of the Lord's servants. There are many ways in which you are able to make your gift:

  • Outright gift by your check
  • Gift of appreciated stock: Please call the Office of Development (978.646.4033) for details on this method of giving
  • Charitable gift annuity, immediate or deferred: A personalized illustration can be prepared for you without any obligation
  • Charitable Remainder Unitrust or Annuity Trust: For details contact the Office of Development (978.646.4033)
  • Real estate
  • Life insurance

Gifts of highly appreciated stock (held over 12 months) are most advantageous for donors for the following reasons:

  • You receive a full fair market value charitable income tax deduction for the gift based on the mean value of the high and low price of the stock on the day of the gift
  • No capital gains taxes are imposed on this transfer
  • The stock could be repurchased with the cash you otherwise would have gifted to Gordon-Conwell so that now you have stock with a current cost basis and no built-in capital gain

Gordon-Conwell has a Consultant in Charitable Gift Planning available to assist you and your advisors in structuring and implementing the most tax effective gift plan for you and your family. There is no cost or obligation whatsoever for this service which the Seminary is pleased to make available for your use.

As you consider your support for Gordon-Conwell, consider one or more of these several methods of giving. You can also help yourself while supporting the educational mission of Gordon-Conwell.
