To review how to apply for financial aid, click here: Apply for Financial Aid.

As you review financial aid deadlines, we also encourage you to review deadlines for scholarships and special programs such as the Partnership Program as these deadlines are different. See Scholarships and Grants or The Partnership Program for more information.

Financial aid award letters will be emailed beginning May 15th for students who have completed a FAFSA and GCTS Financial Aid Application by the May 1 priority deadline. Financial aid applications submitted after the priority deadline after May 1st will be evaluated on a rolling basis.

A financial aid award letter will include

  • any scholarships that have been awarded;
  • any funding from other sources as reported by the student; and
  • a student's loan eligibility.

After receiving an award letter, the student must complete and sign the Award Acceptance Statement and return it to the Financial Aid Office. New borrowers at GCTS must also sign a promissory note and complete a loan counseling tutorial. A Special Note about Summer Loans

We encourage students who are considering summer study to plan for the entire year in advance in order to stretch their aid to help with summer tuition costs. You may receive a Summer Loan only for the summer term in which you are enrolled. You must be enrolled for at least 3 credits for the Full Summer Semester OR at least 3 credits during the Summer I, Summer II, or Summer III sessions to receive a summer loan.

If you need to explore the possibility of a summer loan after the academic year has begun, please contact the Financial Aid Office after April 15th.  If you have not already accepted and received your maximum loan award for the academic year, you may be eligible for a summer loan. If you are eligible for a summer loan, we will email you a revised award letter.

If you have no remaining loan eligibility for the current academic year, you may apply for financial aid for the next academic year.  Review the financial aid application process here: Apply for Financial Aid. If you are eligible for a loan in the coming academic year, your summer loan would be included toward the loan limit for that year.
