Message from the Dean of Students

Welcome! I am so pleased that you are considering pursuing theological education at Gordon-Conwell. As Dean of Students, I have come to realize that men and women choose Gordon-Conwell not only for its academic excellence, but also for the strength of our seminary community. Our beautiful 118 acre campus in South Hamilton, Massachusetts is a thriving residential community, and has a variety of opportunities for ministry and growth. Very few seminaries offer the breadth and depth of community life that Gordon-Conwell provides – from our wide range of on-campus housing options, to small group and discipleship opportunities, to access to a state of the art fitness center – our goal is to create a community that fosters holistic living and learning.

My hope is that what is learned in the classroom is intentionally lived out within community. Relational ministry is at the heart of the gospel and we pray that you will utilize your time in seminary to develop relationships with others from diverse backgrounds and traditions. Our intentionally multicultural, multi-denominational community affords a rich opportunity for experiential learning in regards to ministry in cross-cultural contexts.

The Student Life Services team and I are here for you. We pray that you will find our community welcoming and hospitable. We welcome your unique gifts, talents, and perspectives. With that in mind, please know that no question or comment is insignificant. Your voice IS important! Please let us know how we can serve you as you explore God’s calling and purpose for your life.

In His Service,

Michelle D. Williams,
Dean of Students
