Information for Mentors

A Partnership in Growth - Our Perspective in the Mentored Ministry Office
Education is a process of providing a climate for growth and change. The classroom is the location for preparation and planting. The congregational setting is the place for growth and development. It is impossible to separate these two elements of preparation for ministry. Theory without praxis results in little more than stored information. On the other hand practice without a sound theory is little more than experimentation. Partnerships are not just comfortable arrangements; they are essential elements in fulfilling the mission of the organization. Thank you for being so powerfully linked with us in the whole process of preparing women and men for the work of ministry!

Are you interested in working with a Mentored Ministry Student?
Many of our students find their Mentored Ministry site by approaching their local pastor. However, others seek out new opportunities and new setting in which to learn and serve. To help students connect with local churches and ministries (and to help churches and ministries eager to work with students) the Mentored Ministry Office provides a place for churches to post positions for students. If you would like to have an position at your church or ministry posted on our Opportunities Board you must fill out both forms below. The Application to Mentor should be filled out by some who is willing and able to mentor a student. A mentor can be a member of the clergy or lay leader with at least five years of ministry experience. New mentors will be asked to attend a one-time Mentor Orientation session. Please contact the Mentored Ministry Office if you have any questions.
