Orientation Assignments

After viewing available tutorials these assignments will provide experience in using the resources provided by the Gordon-Conwell library. Please read the instructions carefully then open the word documents and complete each task.

Search for Books

  1. Conduct a book search using the Library and WorldCat catalogs from the library website. Search using the tabbed search box on the library homepage.

  2. Answer the questions in the Finding Books document.

    Important note: All Gordon-Conwell students are able to access the online catalog "My Account" feature after they have been added to the library system by library staff. Access is granted after matriculation. Once added, students can log-in to their library accounts using their student ID as the library ID with the PIN being the last 4 digits of that number. (Example: 199024 / 9024)

Search for Articles

  1. Conduct an article search using EBSCOhost, Proquest, and JSTOR. Search using the tabbed search box on the library homepage.

  2. Answer the questions in the Finding Articles document.

Search for Journals

  1. Conduct a journal search for print and online journals. Search using the tabbed search box on the library homepage.

  2. Answer the questions in the Finding Journals document.
