Campus Libraries

Gordon-Conwell libraries exist to serve the seminary community, and are designed to support the training of theological students from an evangelical perspective. Collecting areas include philosophy of religion, biblical studies, church history, theology, pastoral ministry, world missions, and evangelism. Special attention is given to the evangelical tradition. The Gordon-Conwell collections number approximately a quarter million items (books, bound periodicals, microforms), of which about 4,000 are at CUME, 40,000 in Charlotte, 10,000 at Jacksonville, and the rest at the Hamilton campus.

Special Collections

Each library houses unique collections with special emphases that reflect the history and character of each campus. The Goddard Library houses the Adventual Library and the Harold J. Ockenga library and archives. The Lindsell Library serves as home to the SIM Collection in World Missions as well as the Robert C. Cooley Collection in Biblical Archaeology and Early Christianity. The Bruce Jackson Memorial Library serves the Boston campus collecting in areas pertinent to urban ministry.

Services

Besides housing theological texts, each campus library provides access to online and CD-ROM based databases on public access computers. Essential tools such BibleWorks, Logos Bible Software and Accordance are made available exegetical work. A host of bibliographic databases are also made available, facilitating research in theology, church history, biblical studies, pastoral ministry, counseling and psychology.
