Online Resources

The library website is designed to assist you in your studies at GCTS. Please take some time to view the library's Website Orientation videos.

For a full list of quality online resources available, consult the list of Library Databases. These databases are available to all GCTS D.Min. students with an internet connection through the proxy server. For information on how to connect with these resources off-campus, see the EZProxy Tutorial.

Overdue Book Policy

All library patrons (including D.Min. students) need to agree to the library's borrowing policy. Please do so by signing an agreement form on-site at your campus library, or read and fill out the Overdue Book Policy.

Find GCTS DMin Theses Online

Over 2,800 full-text DMin theses are available through the library's online catalog (over 300 of these theses were written by GCTS graduates). To find these theses, follow the instructions on the GCTS Theses Online tutorial. For more information about finding theses from other schools, check the "Research Guides" below.

Requesting Items from the Goddard Library

It is in the best interest of all D.Min. students to establish a relationship with their local public library and make use of their Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services. If either the Hamilton or Charlotte library has an item that is not available through a local library's services, D.Min. students who live in the continental United States more that 75 miles from the seminary are welcome to request a limited number of books be sent to them by mail (no more than six items may be requested at any one time).

For book request instructions and policies, please consult the library's Book Requests page and take careful note of the instructions given.

Renew Items Online

  1. Go to the Library Catalog:
  2. Click the "Log In" link at the top of the page.
  3. Under the "Use your library card/ID" login section, enter your Library ID Number (this is typically your GCTS student ID) and enter your PIN (by default the last four digits of your GCTS student ID).
Note: You may want to add an "EZ Log On" username and password that is the same as your EZproxy login.
  4. Click the Log In button.
  5. Click button labeled "YourName's Account" at the top of the screen. Click the "Account Activity" button and you will see a list of items you have checked out. You can renew each individually, or you can renew all.
  6. The screen will reload, indicating the new due dates, and showing the message "Item(s) have been renewed."
  7. If you receive an error message, or if you have any difficulties, contact the Circulation Desk at

Thesis Loans

D.Min. students writing approved theses may check out circulating books for 6 months, with 2 renewals of 28 days each. After the first 28 days, the books may be recalled by another patron. Thesis loans are ONLY available once a student has finished all residencies and proof of thesis approval can be provided.

Research Guides

A number of research guides and tutorials are available in the Tutorials section of the library's web pages. Below are a few guides that may be of particular interest to D.Min. students:
