Below you will find the most current list of Mentored Ministry Opportunities in the Hamilton Campus area, especially pertaining to College & Graduate Ministry.

Our office strives to keep the listings below as up to date as possible. All postings have a trained and approved mentor in place. Please note that while these postings reflect the desire of certain ministries and churches to have a seminarian work with them, ministry opportunities for GCTS students are not limited to this list.

PARK STREET CHURCH - College Ministry

POSITION: Park Street Church needs a GCTS student to help build the in-house college ministry. He/she will work with the Director of College Ministry to welcome and invite college students who attend our services to make PSC their home and be involved in various ways. This leader will work with the College Leadership Team (six students) to help plan a new offering at 9:45 on Sunday mornings; it is called the Gathering (worship, student testimonies, fellowship, short talks, discussion groups, and prayer). This leader will also work with the College Leadership Community (26 Park Streeters ages 22-75 who are trying to help make PSC a home to college students). He/she will contact students through Facebook, email, or phone to see what their needs are and how we can help. This position will involve strategic planning to grow the college student numbers from 100-250 within the next two years in addition to direct work with students and non-students.

HOURS: Minimum 10 hours per week.

FINANCIAL: $1000 per semester.

TIME FRAME: Spring 2018 (ideally beginning in February 2018 with an option to extend the work through Summer 2018 and beyond).

OTHER: The GCTS student is expected to be at PSC on Sundays from 9:20—1:00. All other work can be done remotely. There are also opportunities to speak to groups at the church and on campuses, attend PSC staff meetings, and work on other projects as needed. We’re looking for a faithful, dependable, socially and emotionally mature student who loves college students and can motivate them to get involved.

POSITION: This is a start-up ministry with the intention to have a male student (or a couple) minister to and disciple students from Gordon College and North Shore colleges. A clearly-defined vision, a sense of humor, a love for people, and a love for the Gospel are necessary qualifications. The applicant will also have opportunities to preach to the whole church.

HOURS: 10 hours per week.

FINANCIAL: Open to consideration, depending on skill, experience, and weekly time-involvement.

TIME FRAME: 2015-16 Academic year.

OTHER: We are a multi-cultural, multi-generational church where the Gospel is clear and the people are friendly.  We don’t segregate different age groups into separate worship experiences, but we also believe that people require age- and context-appropriate teaching and discipleship; thus, our desire to start a college ministry.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN CHURCH - Pastoral Assistant, College and Career Ministry

POSITION: Seeking a student who is a people person, flexible, possesses a gracious spirit, is willing to think outside the box, and who is willing to do the work of an evangelist for position offering the opportunity to help develop a new college and career ministry at New Life Christian Church.  Student will have opportunities to serve in the church according to his or her gifts, interests, and goals.

HOURS: 10 - 12 hours per week.

FINANCIAL: $0.50 per mile.

TIME FRAME: Fall or Spring semester.

OTHER: We are a friendly, Christ-centered, Bible-based, mission-focused church of 150 to 200 people.  We engage in mission trips each year, and we are planting a daughter church in Lowell, MA, among the international residents there.  We worship in a style that blends some contemporary worship as well as some traditional worship.  The pastor and mentor, Ken Heath, graduated from Gordon-Conwell with a D.Min.

POSITION: We have various opportunities to serve in our church and a long history partnering with GCTS to mentor students. We are about 4 miles from the campus and have active ministries working with children, youth, college students, men, moms, international missions, local outreach, and many other ways to serve. TIME FRAME: 1 year commitment minimum.

OTHER: Our weekly worship attendance is about 250 people.
