OTHER: Bethany started in 1989 as a vibrant Christian fellowship of college and university students meeting at the Korean Church of Boston; it was chartered as an independent congregation in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 2003. Over the last 6 years the congregation has quickly become a family church, with almost 20 children under the age of 10. We worship in a public school auditorium in Brookline, and most midweek ministry happens in members’ homes around the Greater Boston area. We continue to have a significant number of young adults, many of whom serve in one way or another on the Music Team.
Our worship is Christ-centered and ordered by the Word. It includes both traditional and contemporary forms. As a new church we are still discerning our unique identity and mission. We offer seminarians a great opportunity to play a part in nurturing a young church’s ministry and mission, and to be nurtured by the pastor and other leaders in the process.
