Our office strives to keep the listings below as up to date as possible. All postings have a trained and approved mentor in place. Please note that while these postings reflect the desire of certain ministries and churches to have a seminarian work with them, ministry opportunities for GCTS students are not limited to this list.

POSITION: Are you passionate about reaching the world’s largest cities for Christ? We’re looking for someone who is gifted in leading others in worship through music and song, as well as someone who is passionate about ministry in a young, diverse, urban environment. This position provides opportunity for growth in a variety of ministry contexts and will allow for opportunities to serve based upon interest and affinity. In addition to coordinating music with Ruggles’ teaching team, the candidate will be responsible for discipling members of the worship team. The candidate may have an opportunity to gain preaching experience in our Sunday morning worship service.

HOURS: 10-15 hours / week

FINANCES: A small transportation stipend is available

TIME: Fall 2014 (1-year commitment is preferred)

OTHER: The candidate will receive mentoring from a Gordon-Conwell graduate. Our church is located on Beacon Street and is surrounded by numerous college campuses.

POSITION: If you are a motivational self-starter capable of starting a program and working under the direct supervision of the lead pastor, this position is for you. We are a church plant looking to launch worship services in late 2014 or early 2015. We are in need of a worship leader. You will not only learn how to prepare and execute a worship service, but also acquire vital skills necessary for a church plant.

HOURS: 10-15 Hours/Week

OTHER: We are a new church plant with reformed doctrine and a desire to be missional. We are located in Revere which is a multi-cultural area with a great need for the Gospel presence.

POSITION: Seeking a male or female student who has a love for congregational worship and believes in the mission of the Church and all of its blessings and challenges. The student must be able to lead vocally and instrumentally. The student will have opportunities to develop existing gifts in worship leading, write worship orders include praise, prayers, and other elements of the worship service, and explore leadership in other ministries within the church based on the student’s interests and discussion with his/her mentor.

HOURS: 10 Hours/Week

FINANCIAL: $160/Week

TIME FRAME: Fall 2014, with an opportunity to begin working in August 2014

OTHER: Trinity Covenant Church is a multigenerational church seeking to be faithful to God in the metropolitan west of Boston through worship, service, sincere relationships, and community engagement. We prioritize unity and seek to be a home for people from any background.


PROJECT: Student will help lead worship through music and song in a multi-ethnic, multicultural context; engage in gospel-centered, urban/inner-city ministry; receive one-on-one pastoral oversight and mentoring session designed for equipping and encouragement; and direct hands-on ministry within the urban context (music ministry, neighborhood prayer walks, church functions, and outreach events).

HOURS: 10 hours / week

FINANCIAL: Compensation will be $50/week (or $200-$250 per full month)

TIME FRAME: Position is available immediately.

OTHER: We are seeking a male or female student who loves Jesus and the local church, is able to play an instrument (keys, drums, bass, electric guitars), is teachable and willing to learn and submit to pastoral leadership, and is willing to engage with and learn from people of different socioeconomic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.

Christ the King Dorchester (PCA) is just one congregation that is part of a wider network of a multi-congregation church-planting church called Christ The King.  We are based in and on mission for Dorchester, a richly diverse inner-city neighborhood of metro Boston.

The Mission of Christ the King Dorchester is to extend the Kingdom of God throughout Dorchester and beyond.

PROJECT: The Forestdale Community Church of Malden is looking for a musically gifted Worship Leader to lead our Worship Team for two worship services on Sunday mornings at 8:30am and 11:00am. The ministry involves the coordination and planning of music with the Pastor, and practice one evening every other week to rehearse music for the Sunday worship services.

FINANCIAL: Between $3,800-and $5,000 for the year. 

HOURS: 10hrs/wk

TIME FRAME: Per start up times of Mentored Ministry (Summer, Fall, and Spring)

OTHER: We are a community of people seeking to love God, love others, and make disciples as we go. Ideally we would love to have a musician who is looking for a church home during their years in seminary, and not simply looking to fulfill a Mentored Ministry requirement. We would love to have the student become part of our family.

PROJECT: Seeking a male or female Mentored Ministry student who has leadership ability, enthusiasm for worship, musical ability, and the ability to adapt well to new situations.  The student will have the opportunity to lead worship in our contemporary service. He/she will also work with the worship committee in planning for future worship services and carrying out the vision of the church in the area of worship, specifically music. He may be able to recruit and develop a praise team and organize rehearsals. He may also participate with the choir in our traditional service. Student does not need to be of the same denomination.

HOURS: 10 hrs.


TIME FRAME: ASAP-We are flexible.

OTHER: Windham Presbyterian Church is a Christ-centered, evangelical church which seeks to be warm and welcoming and offer plenty of opportunities for individuals to grow.
