Work Matters:
A Conversation About Vocation, Seminaries and the Church

Please join Rev. Tom Nelson, author of Work Matters: Connecting Sunday Worship to Monday Work (Crossway 2011) and senior pastor of Christ Community Church in Leawood, Kansas, and Dr. Steve Garber, Founder and Principal of The Washington Institute and author of The Fabric of Faithfulness: Weaving Together Belief and Behavior, to discuss why a right and rich understanding of vocation is critical for effective mission.

  • What are some practical ways the local church can better engage its parishioners to ensure vocation is understood as integral, not incidental, to the mission of God in the world?
  • What can seminary faculty and students do to better prepare for faithfulness on the workplace side of our mission and ministry?

Bring your questions, your comments and ideas, your pastoral staff and your friends!
