Gordon-Conwell Faculty to Speak at Passages

Passages, an “innovative, interactive, family-friendly exhibit that showcases both the Old and New Testaments,” has opened in Charlotte, NC. Along with the Green Scholar’s Initiative, Gordon-Conwell is co-sponsoring a 20 speaker series of free lectures. The internationally recognized scholars include several from Gordon-Conwell. Dr. Tim Laniak, Academic Dean of the Charlotte campus and Professor of Old Testament, will speak on the topic of “Moses: Shepherd Leader and Torah Scribe” on Tuesday, October 9, 2012; Dr. Eckhard Schnabel, Mary F. Rockefeller Distinguished Professor of New Testament Studies, will present his lecture, “The Apostle Thomas and the Beginnings of the Church in India,” on Tuesday, January 15, 2013; and Dr. Donald Fairbairn, Robert E. Cooley Professor of Early Christianity, will discuss “The Abitinian Martyrs and the Preservation of Scripture during the Great Persecution (A.D. 303-305)” on Tuesday, January 22, 2013.
