Harden Appointed President & CEO of Ashland Theological Seminary

It is with genuine sadness for us, but joy for him, that we announce the appointment of Dr. Mark Harden as the new President and CEO of Ashland Theological Seminary.  For the past 4½ years Dr. Harden has served with distinction as Dean of Gordon-Conwell’s Boston Campus.  He had been uniquely prepared to lead our urban campus with his prior leadership roles as Bethel Seminary’s Dean of Intercultural Relations, as an ordained minister, founder of a citywide collaborative ministry in Detroit and earlier a Detroit police officer.  Dr. Harden brought vision, focus, vitality and keen administrative acumen to his role as Boston’s Dean.  He will be deeply missed.

We will move quickly to appoint interim leadership for our Boston Campus, prior to launching an international search for Dean Harden’s replacement.  We are committed to a smooth transition and the flourishing of our urban ministry program.   Dr. Harden will begin his new appointment on July 1, 2016.  We wish Mark and Sharon all the best in this new calling and send them with our blessing.
