Using Ancient Wisdom to Become a Spiritual Shepherd Today

As Dean of Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, Dr. Tim Laniak’s career is nothing short of stellar. From managing Foreign Student and Section 8 housing to Ethno-archaeological research among Bedouin shepherds in the Middle East, Laniak’s perspective on serving others has morphed a great deal from his original naiveté. What he has unearthed through his journey – is a treasure.   He continually asked himself ‘Isn’t helping people simple?’ and ‘Isn’t being a leader synonymous with being a servant?’ But now Tim says “What I’ve learned along the way – is truly surprising.”

  Navigating Through Stormy Waters

During his junior year of high school, Vince Coakley worked as a disc jockey and even then declared the sovereignty of God.  From there, his career in broadcasting took him to radio and lead news anchor at WSOC TV.  And then the sovereignty of God (which he says ‘navigated’ him along the way) took him through a public firing and a sudden diagnosis of a brain tumor.  So what would Vince tell his young DJ?  Relationships matter.  Oh… and what would he tell you?  He says “This will be worth your price of admission.”

Building a Legacy With What I Know Now

Dr. Barbara L. Peacock has worn numerous hats throughout her career and vocation.  Her path has taken her from the fashion industry to being a successful business owner to founder of BLP Ministries, She acknowledges that it is the grace and mercy of God that has sustained her.  Faced with challenges like everyone else, Barbara has a plethora of what she desires to tell her younger self. Such include relational, financial and spiritual advice. Throughout her spiritual journey she has learned to evaluate what is most important. Truly, that is exactly what composes a legacy.

Believing that If God’s in It – You Can’t Stop it

Chip Furr has many titles but our favorite is Chief Roaster at Climbs Roast Coffee.  To watch the creativity, favor and blessing on what Chip and Cheery Furr are experiencing is close to unbelievable.  But it hasn’t always been like it is now.  When asked “What would you tell yourself before this journey began?” Furr answered without hesitation.  “If God’s in it you can’t stop it.”  But the question is “How do you know if God is in ‘it’?”  Discover how Chip’s dreams became a reality – so you can see yours come to fruition.

  Learning What Really Matters

During his career as a global speaker, trainer and author, Tim Conner has helped thousands of people in hundreds of organizations improve their sales, management and leadership effectiveness, and life success.  But Tim brings to the table a unique authenticity.  What a surprise to hear a motivational speaker say “Wealth, fame, power, achievement, notoriety and accomplishment – are not the important things in life!”  Come and hear Tim share what he’s learned along his prestigious career and what he has determined to be what really matters.
