Mark Your Calendars: June Events at Jacksonville Campus

Gordon-Conwell—Jacksonville will host two events open to the public in June.
The first, “Managing Conflict,” will take place on Friday, June 13 at 6:00 p.m. and will feature Dr. Rodney Cooper, Kenneth and Jean Hansen Professor of Discipleship and Leadership Development. Dr. Cooper is an internationally known speaker, having delivered messages to a number of professional sports teams, as well as a gifted counselor and preacher. “Managing Conflict” purposes to help Christian leaders build healthy relationships and manage conflict, both personally and organizationally.
The second, “Lewis and Tolkien,” is scheduled for the following Friday, June 20 at 6:00 p.m., featuring Dr. Ryan Reeves, Assistant Dean of the Jacksonville Campus and Assistant Professor of Historical Theology. “Lewis and Tolkien” examines the thinking and writing of C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien to better understand their views and continued influence. Dr. Reeves is a church historian, author and lecturer.
Each event is the first evening of an intensive weekend course on the respective subject, and is open to the public. The first portion of class will consist of an introduction to and overview of the particular topic. Guests are welcome to stay until the break or for the entire evening. Refreshments will be provided.
