established practitioner and trainer. Burns and Rice should be in your
and every church or organization’s library.
French, Thomas. South of Heaven: Welcome to Hgh School at the End of
the Twentieth Century. Doubleday, 1993, 363 pp.
Unfortumately, this book is out of print, but find it. It will take
you inside a typical high school, and what you will find will be troubling,
heart touching
and instructive.

Several Books were written in the 1990's about society’s abuse of
young women. Apart from the works of Jawanza Kunjufu written about black boys,
in
the 1980's, this is a first consideration of boys.

Perhaps the first book to read on youth ministry, and the first to give to tyour
volunteers and interns. It is a readable and inspiring book. This is an excellent
introduction to youth ministry, junior highs, adolescent development and ideas
for youth programs.
Ward, Pete, Sam Adams & Jude Levermore, Youth Work, and How
to do It. Oxford, Eng.: Lnx, 1984, 158 pp.
A very thoughtful “how-to-do-it” and “how-to-train-others” manual.
