B.A. (Gordon College); M.Div. (Denver Seminary); Ph.D. (University of Aberdeen, Scotland).

 Dr. Ciampa, a native of New England, came to Gordon-Conwell after 12 years of cross-cultural experience, having taught at two different theological schools in Portugal, where he also collaborated with the Bible Society in the revision of its contemporary translation of the Bible.

He is an ordained minister and serves on the Board of Overseeing Elders at Grace Chapel in Lexington, MA. Dr. Ciampa is a member of several professional organizations and fellowships. These include the Society of Biblical Literature, the Institute for Biblical Research, the Tyndale Fellowship for Biblical and Theological Research and the Evangelical Theological Society. He is also a member of the Advisory Council of the Nida Institute for Biblical Scholarship  of the American Bible Society and the Translation Development Team of the Forum of Bible Agencies International.

Dr. Ciampa’s scholarly interests include Bible translation, exegetical methodology, contemporary hermeneutics, early Jewish and Christian interpretation of Scripture, and biblical theology.

His personal interests include enjoying New England’s lakes, beaches and countryside, motorcycling, boating, supporting the local sports teams, traveling, and attending an occasional musical.
