ESEPA Seminary, Costa Rica
Dates: TBD
Anticipated Cost: $3000
Location and Ministries: The Latin American church is currently experiencing dramatic growth which is further exposing a dire need for the theological development of its leadership. Students will be given the opportunity to assist in the training of these leaders. Participants will learn and minister in a variety of settings: formal (ESEPA Seminary) and informal (local churches and ESEPA Extension centers), urban (San José) and rural (the countryside). Students will assist local efforts of evangelization, discipleship, training, and other projects. They will do so under the supervision of ESEPA faculty and staff, as well as other local and para-church leaders. In order to understand the practical needs of preparing leaders for ministry in this context, participants will be given exposure to the situation in the church and society in Costa Rica and the different ways the local church and foreign missionaries have been working together to address needs in these areas. In addition, opportunities will be provided for students to preach and minister in the local church. Students will be encouraged to think through the challenges of developing leaders who positively impact society through integral ministry aiming at holistic renewal. Proficiency in the Spanish language is an advantage, but is not required.
