Fall 2010 - New Fundamentals of Supervision

Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary will be offering the course: The Fundamentals of Supervision in the Fall of 2010. As with most of our courses, this will be offered as a weekend course to accommodate working schedules. The dates this course will meet are: September 10-11th, October 8-9th, November 5-6th.

This course can be taken for 45 Continuing Education credit hours or as a 3.0 credit hour class. As of October 2009, the NC LPC Board enacted new laws regarding LPC supervision.* If a contract was not established before that date, then all qualified clinical supervisors must have a 3.0 credit hour course or 45 hours of continuing education in supervision. In order to be an approved supervisor, one must have either 45 Continuing Education hours or have had a 3.0 credit hour course in supervision.

*Please note: Eventually all LPCs wishing to provide supervision must become an LPC Supervisor (LPCS). For those who did have a contract established before the NC changes in October of 2010, by 2013 you will be required to have the 45 Continuing Ed hours or the supervision course, so this class is very much applicable to you as well. If taking the course for the 45 Continuing Education credit hours, then one would also need to attend the weekend of December 3-4th.

The course syllabus has been tailored according to the NC Board’s Fundamentals of Supervision requirements. The syllabus is available by clicking here. The class meets Friday evening and all day Saturday each weekend of the schedule.
