Volume 4
Fall 2005 - Be Clear, Be Clear, Be Clear: But How?
This first issue of Volume 4 tackles a very important topic: oral clarity. Through a discussion with the Center for Preaching faculty and a presentation and sermon by Don Sunukjian, we will show you why clarity is important, why it's difficult, and how to improve your own clarity in preaching. Don Sunukjian's six simple and effective principles are sure to help you preach sermons that are easier to understand and easier to remember.

Winter 2006 - The Big Idea of the Text
What's the big idea? Does every biblical text have one? Do some texts have more than one? These are just some of the questions that we want to tackle in this issue of PulpitTalk. We want to show you what a Big Idea is and how to find it in each passage that you prepare to preach.

Spring 2006 - The Big Idea of the Sermon
Many communicators agree that the most effective sermons communicate one dominant idea. Haddon Robinson says that many sermons fail because they communicate too many unrelated ideas. This issue will show you what a Big Idea looks like in a sermon and how to use it to effectively communicate the truth of the text.
Summer 2006 - Christ-Centered Preaching
The method of Christ-Centered preaching is popular and well known. This issue of PulpitTalk will feature two experts on the method: Bryan Chapell and Sidney Greidanus. Through interviews, presentations, and sermon samples, you will learn what the Christ-Centered method is and how it can help you proclaim Christ more effectively.
