NECHE

Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (formerly the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc.), a non-governmental, nationally recognized organization whose affiliated institutions include elementary school through collegiate institutions offering post-graduate instruction. Accreditation of an institution by the New England Commission of Higher Education indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of institutional quality periodically applied through a peer group review process.

CACREP

Gordon-Conwell is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a nationally recognized organization that accredits master’s and doctoral degree programs in counseling and its specialty areas. Accreditation by CACREP indicates that a graduate counseling program meets or exceeds criteria for the preparation and training of professional counselors.

Statement of Educational Effectiveness: Gordon-Conwell is committed to effective education and preparation for a variety of Christian ministries locally, nationally and globally. As a measure of educational effectiveness, since 2005, 74% of our Master’s graduates secured their first professional/ministry position within one year of graduation. Of those Master’s graduates 53% found that position by the time of graduation. (Source: Alumni Survey)

Retention and Graduation Rates

Gordon-Conwell’s main campus in Hamilton, Massachusetts, is a residential campus and serves primarily full-time students. Our other campuses serve primarily part-time students. Given the different rates at which full-time and part-time students progress through their studies, we are presenting both the main campus rates (where most students are full-time) as well as the overall institutional rates (in which most students are part-time) in order to allow students to choose how best to pursue their program.

First-to-second-year retention rates within Master’s degree programs (5 year average):

Main campus rate (primarily full-time students): 88%
Overall institutional rate (primarily part-time students): 83%

Master of Divinity graduation rates after seven years (5 year average):

Master of Divinity (MDiv) students have ten years to complete their programs. The graduate rates below represent the percentage of MDiv students who have graduated by the end of their seventh year. Rates rise by the end of the ten-year limit.

Main campus rate (primarily full-time students): 84%
Overall institutional rate (primarily part-time students): 58%

Master of Arts graduation rates after five years (5 year average):

Master of Arts (MA) students have seven years to complete their programs. The graduate rates below represent the percentage of MA students who have graduated by the end of their fifth year. Rates rise by the end of the seven-year limit.
