Extensions and Withdrawals

The office from which you request an extension for your Semlink course will vary depending on who you are as a Semlink student. Off-campus students (those who have not taken a class on any of Gordon-Conwell's campuses) should contact the Semlink office. On-campus students, those who have taken a class at one of the seminary's campuses, should contact their home campus registration office.
Off-Campus Students
You are an off-campus student if you have yet to take any on-campus classes. Once you have taken a single on-campus class, you are considered an on-campus student at that campus.
Withdrawals: Withdrawal requests must be made in writing, signed, and submitted to the Semlink office by the original course due date. Note that it is not possible to withdraw from a course that is on extension.
Extensions: Extension requests must be made in writing and submitted to the Semlink office by the course due date. The best way to submit extension requests is via email to semlink@gordonconwell.edu.
The extension request should include a statement of the circumstances that have prevented you from completing your course and the amount of time lost due to these circumstances, the amount of work completed on the course to date and the work for which you are requesting an extension. Extensions are considered on an avoidable/unavoidable basis. Generally, extension requests that are based on avoidable circumstances are granted with a grade penalty.

On-Campus Students
You are an on-campus student if you have taken a course on one of the Seminary's four campuses. Even if you are no longer living near campus or are no longer taking any on-campus classes, you are still considered an on-campus student.
Withdrawals: Withdrawal requests must be made in writing and submitted through the registration office on the campus at which you are registered (i.e., a Charlotte student would submit requests to the Charlotte registration office).
Extensions: Requests for extensions must also be made in writing and must be submitted through the registration office on the campus at which you are registered. The extension request should include a statement of the circumstances that have prevented you from completing your course and the amount of time lost due to these circumstances. Generally, extension requests that are based on avoidable circumstances are granted with a grade penalty.
