Semlink Teaching Fellow for Old Testament

Biographical Information:

Jin is a 3rd year student at GCTS pursuing a dual degree: Master of Arts in Biblical Studies and Master of Arts in Old Testament.  He is preparing for doctoral work in Old Testament/Hebrew language and literature.  

He was born in South Korea but grew up in Alameda, California, which is the home town of Jason Kidd and Isaiah Rider.  He met his wife Ruth in Tianjin, China, while teaching English at an international school.  They have a 2-year-old son named Elijah (which means ‘my God is Yahweh’ in Hebrew).     

Jin is seeking the highest possible training in Biblical studies in order to teach and equip pastors and Bible teachers in the mission field.  He himself has been a youth pastor and worship leader for several years and hopes to be ordained someday.  

Jin spends his free time playing chess and watching movies.  He is also a 49er’s fan.
