Alan Baker

Alan T. Baker is a deeply experienced executive with over 20 years of international leadership in complex organizations. He has extensive background in education, pastoral ministry, organizational development, and strategic planning. Alan’s pastoral proficiency included leading a San Francisco Bay Area church of 5,000 attendees and 85 full-time staff.

He is currently supervisor of chaplain ministries for the oldest Protestant denomination in North America with a continuous ministry, the Reformed Church in America. In this position Alan supports military, health care, industrial, college, and correctional chaplains throughout and beyond the United States. His public service spans from Dean of the Chapel at the U. S. Naval Academy to the Presidential nomination and Senate appointment as Rear Admiral. He was recently named Senior Fellow at the U.S. Naval Academy’s Stockdale Center of Ethical Leadership. Alan received a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

He enjoys playing the harmonica and is affectionately known by his nickname “Blues.” Alan and his wife, Marla, live in Annapolis, Maryland. They have two beautiful grown daughters and two wonderful son-in-laws.
