New Testament Studies


Dr. Mateus de Campos is originally from Brazil, where he served as a pastor for ten years at the Church of the Nazarene in Americana. As a pastor, he focused on preaching, teaching and ministry development, speaking at several churches and conferences in Brazil and internationally. His enthusiasm for Scripture led him to Cambridge, UK, where he earned his doctoral degree in New Testament, writing on the subject of Resistance to Jesus in the Gospel of Mark. Dr de Campos’ areas of expertise include the Gospel of Mark, the Synoptic Gospels, the use of the Old Testament in the New Testament and historical Jesus studies. His current research focuses the use of exodus paradigms in the New Testament, discipleship in the New Testament and Jesus’ interaction with the poor in the Synoptic Gospels.
Dr. de Campos is married to Renata, and they have two children, Matt and Zoe.
