Named in honor of Dr. J. Christy Wilson, Jr., former professor of missions at Gordon-Conwell who faithfully served Christ in Afghanistan for 22 years as a missionary, pastor, and teacher, the Dr. J. Christy Wilson, Jr. Scholarship for Missions Ministry is a $17,500/year scholarship granted to up to two applicants for full-time study, beginning in the fall semester. Recipients of this award will demonstrate exceptional promise for missions service upon graduation from Gordon-Conwell and will reflect the Seminary’s commitment to “engage globally” in service to the Church. “Missions” is broadly defined to include both international and local missions, social justice ministry, urban or rural ministry and campus ministry. Recipients must demonstrate experience in missions, must express a desire to engage in missions as a full-time vocation upon graduation, and must complete their application for admission to Gordon-Conwell and the Merit Scholarship Application by February 1st. This scholarship is renewable each year of study.
