Graduate Certificate

Get a start on seminary with a graduate certificate from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary’s Boston Campus. These short, personalized non-degree programs give college graduates the opportunity to investigate the Bible and Christianity without making a commitment to a long-term degree. Students enrich their spiritual life, grow in their understanding of God’s Word, learn to put Christianity to work in the modern world, and broaden employment and volunteer opportunities in churches and parachurch ministries.

Graduate Certificate in Christian Studies - Post Diploma Completion

Introduction to Theological Studies 3 credit hours
Interpreting the Bible 3 credit Hours
Any OT or NT In-Depth Course 3 credit hours

*The Graduate Certificate in Christian Studies program is for Post-Diploma (Pre-Degree Equivalency) graduates only, and is offered in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Classes are held every other Tuesday from 6pm-10pm from Fall to Fall, or Spring to Spring.

Interested applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Application
  • Personal Statement stating reason for pursuing graduate studies (no more than 1 page)

Students who complete the graduate certificate can apply all credits toward an MDiv, MACO, or MA program at Gordon-Conwell (and many other seminaries) upon successful completion. Please note that each degree program has a GPA minimum requirement.

Admissions Requirements

Interested students can apply online today.  All students must submit the following:

  1. Application
  2. Two letters of recommendation: i) Church/Professional/Academic; ii) Personal
  3. Autobiography (no more than 2 pages)
  4. Personal Statement (no more than 2 pages):
  5. Official transcript documenting the completion of at least a Bachelor’s degree
  6. Immunization Records
  7. $50 Application Fee
  8. Resume (optional)
  9. TOEFL: All International Students, whose primary language is not English, must submit a TOEFL score to Gordon-Conwell, Boston Campus.
