The Haddon Robinson Center for Preaching at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary is delighted to introduce The Haddon Robinson Expository Preaching Approach online certificate course. This course consists of ten, thirty-five-minute lessons. The course content is based on Dr. Robinson’s introductory preaching course that he taught for many years at the seminary. Each lesson includes quotes from him, audio clips, a sermon, and suggested reading for further development. The course is designed for lay-preachers, teachers of the Bible, pastors who would like to learn or brush up on big idea expository preaching. Individual, group, and cohort options are available.
All participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion from the Gordon-Conwell Institute.

Course modalities
When you register for the course, you may work at your own pace as an individual or gather some ministry colleagues and work through the course as a group. Twice per year the course will be offered in a cohort format that includes two sessions with a Gordon-Conwell preaching professor and Zoom sessions with other participants. All participants who complete the course will receive a certificate of completion from the Gordon-Conwell Institute.

The homiletical idea is the idea from Scripture as I phrase it and shape it for a 21st-century audience. That is, if somebody came into my study, how would I express that concept to the person sitting across the desk from me? The homiletical idea is based on the work you do in exegesis, but you haven’t preached if you leave people in the past, 2,000 years ago. The homiletical idea is to take this great truth of Scripture and state it in a way people today would hear it.
