Biography:
Valter De Souza Jr. is a PhD student in counseling education and supervision at Regent University. His personal journey of immigration and exposure to third-culture dynamics profoundly influenced his identity, fostering a keen interest in exploring the nexus of culture and religion within marginalized communities.

Following his seminary education at Gordon-Conwell, Valter was ordained as a minister and has dedicated himself to serving the Portuguese Baptist Church, a close-knit Portuguese-speaking community in Saugus, MA. While in the process of obtaining his state mental health counselor license, he actively engages with the diverse demographic of his area, drawing inspiration and insight from the challenges faced by working with various populations.

Valter is committed to contributing to the existing body of literature, seeking innovative ways to enhance his ability to positively impact the lives of those he encounters along his professional journey. He considers it a privilege and honor to serve individuals and the communities to which they belong, continuously propelling him toward personal growth.

In addition to work and ministry, Valter enjoys spending time with his wife, kayaking, hiking, and working in their yard.
