EBSCOhost Database Trials

Gordon-Conwell libraries are pleased to announce that Academic Search Complete has been made available on a trial basis through August 15, 2015. Please take some time and fill out the form below and give us your thoughts about this database.

Academic Search Complete (EBSCOhost)

Description: Academic Search Complete offers an enormous collection of the most valuable full-text journals, providing users access to critical information from many sources unique to this database. In addition, this database is the leading source of peer-reviewed, full-text for STM research, as well as for the Social Sciences and Humanities. This scholarly collection offers unmatched coverage of information spanning a broad range of important areas of academic study, including anthropology, engineering, law, sciences and more.

Who might be interested? All users. This is an database covering nearly every subject studied at GCTS with greater access to full-text content. 

Content Includes:

  • More than 13,800 indexed and abstracted journals
  • More than 9,000 full-text journals
  • Full text for more than 7,800 peer-reviewed journals
  • PDF content dating back as far as 1887
  • Searchable cited references provided for more than 1,400 journals

Searching Academic Search Complete:

  1. EBSCOhost: Search the database directly from EBSCOhost. Users must log-in through EZproxy off-campus. 
  2. WorldCat Discovery: Search the database using the library's new online catalog. During the trial period, Academic Search Complete is included in the Discovery default search. Follow the instructions below to explore ASC and learn how Discovery displays print and electronic journal search results.   
  • From the Advanced Search boxes, perform a search using one or more of the available search terms. Click Search.
  • When results display, limit to results that include ASC journals by checking 'Academic Search Complete' from the database options in the left side menu. 

  • From the available results, click the View Online button under a desired item or click the Title to view available electronic and/or print availability. Log-in to EZproxy to access the electronic article.
