Our office strives to keep the listings below as up to date as possible. All postings have a trained and approved mentor in place. Please note that while these postings reflect the desire of certain ministries and churches to have a seminarian work with them, ministry opportunities for GCTS students are not limited to this list.

POSITION:  The Children’s Ministry Pastor/Director (depending on degree) will be in charge of 15 children age 3-5th grade to: portray Christ’s love to them, teach and preach the Word of God to them, prepare and lead Friday night fellowship and Bible studies, recruit and train leaders, and work closely with the Senior Pastor as well as the English Ministry Pastor and Elders. We’re looking for someone who is affectionate and caring toward children and is committed to the Presbyterian Church in America’s (PCA) core values. Experience working with children, as well as bilingual fluency in English and Korean, is preferred but not required.

HOURS:  10 hours per week (weekends).

FINANCIAL: $1000/month stipend with gas reimbursement and housing.

TIME FRAME: Begins March 2018. Multi-year commitment preferable.

TRAVEL TIME: 2 hours from GCTS.

OTHER: NEGPC, located in West Hartford, CT, strives to be a Christ-centered, Gospel-driven, multi-generational, and multi-lingual church. Our church has 100 members primarily consisting of KM (Korean Ministry) adults ranging from young adults to seniors. The EM (English Ministry) is about 30 members mostly from nearby colleges. Here you will find warm-hearted, mature, supportive, and dedicated adults ready to support and work with you every step of the way. POSITION: GENESIS Kids is the children’s ministry of GENESIS community church that serves families with children ages 6 weeks through 5th grade. Our mission is to ‘help ALL kids walk with God!’ And our commitment is to encourage and equip ALL kids for the journey God has for them. GENESIS is looking for seminarians who love children, is teachable, and has a deep desire to pray for, serve, and teach children the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Students will support and provide leadership to our huge volunteer base, along with full-time staff, Jennabeth Jackson. GENESIS offers a safe environment and an incredible support network for students to learn, apprentice, and experience a thriving children’s ministry. This is an incredible opportunity, not only for a life-long children’s worker, but also for men called to be church planters or lead pastors to develop faithful congregational leadership.  

HOURS: 10 hours per week.

CORNERSTONE CHURCH OF BOSTON - Children's Ministry Director

POSITION: We are looking for a student with excellent administrative skills to come serve as our Children’s Ministry Director. He/she will oversee our growing children’s ministry, from birth to Middle School. Candidate must have excellent organizational skills, an ability to partner with parents in the discipleship of their children, an ability to recruit and train volunteers and to oversee all aspects of Sunday morning Children’s ministry, as well as an ability to understand the Asian-American experience. Prior experience in children’s ministry would be great, but this is also an incredible opportunity to learn.

HOURS: 10 - 15 hours per week.

FINANCIAL: Commensurate with experience, with a base of $15/hour.

TIME FRAME: Year round position; currently available.  

TRAVEL TIME: 30 minutes from GCTS.

OTHER: Cornerstone is a millennial, mostly-Asian, 85%-single congregation. Average worship attendance has grown 35% in the last 12 months, and our engaged attenders database has increased from 323 to over 600 in the past 18 months. Our current family ministry consists of around 25 children, with around 30 volunteers.

CHRIST THE KING DORCHESTER — Children’s Ministry Director

POSITION: Your responsibilities will include reaching out to the children of Dorchester and their families, maintaining, overseeing, and building upon existing children’s ministry (King’s Kids, Children’s Church, Nursery, VBS and summer programs), and training and organizing volunteers

HOURS: 40 Hours per week.

FINANCIAL: This is a full-time position and will be salaried.

TIME FRAME: Start-up would be August 1st, with no end-date in mind.

OTHER: Christ the King Dorchester is a multi-ethnic, Gospel-driven, community-based church which is committed to seeing the Kingdom of God extended in Dorchester and beyond. We are a young church (started five years ago) that has experienced good healthy growth. We average about 150 children and adults in attendance in worship. Many of these are new Christians, some are seekers. During the week we have a thriving ESL ministry and a children’s ministry that reaches out to both church kids and neighborhood children.

Looking for someone who is faithful to Jesus and has a “God-size” vision for life and ministry, has a vibrant prayer life, has a love for people, and is a hybrid leader (able to operate and relate to many different types of people and cultures). The position is open to both men and women.
