PARK STREET CHURCH - College Ministry

POSITION: We are looking for an Assistant Director of College Ministry. The responsibilities of this position will include leading, teaching, designing/hosting social gatherings and events, discipling, planning, and potentially helping to lead mission trips within the College Ministry at Park Street Church (PSC). Since PSC has a partnership with Cru (an international, interdenominational missions organization), she/he could also help students reach out to the students on their campuses. Some of the all-church opportunities for this student would be preaching at a Lenten Service, doing congregational prayer in the main services (8:30am & 11am – 700 people; 4pm – 250 people), praying with individuals who come forward to receive prayer after services, reading Scripture in the main services, attending two missions committee meetings and participating in the Annual Missions Conference. In general, Sundays 9:15am – 1:15 pm would be the preferred time of attendance (includes church attendance). Other work can be done remotely. We are looking for a student who loves Jesus and college students and feels comfortable with them socially – able to welcome them well and help them grow to be strong disciples of Jesus.

HOURS: Minimum 10 hours per week.

FINANCIAL: $1000 per semester.

TIME FRAME: Fall 2019 – Spring 2020.

OTHERPark Street Church is an historic church – William Lloyd Garrison’s giving his first public anti-slavery speech here and World Relief (an international relief and development agency) being founded here – but it continues today as a vibrant congregational church in the heart of Boston. Not only is it a physical landmark, it has also been a testament to the truth of the love of Christ for the world. These days approximately 1,100 worshippers gather at three services on Sundays and participate in many ministries throughout the week. Membership includes people from 61 nations and from all generations.
