2021 Workshops

Throughout its history, the Church has been ignored by society, tolerated with suspicion, actively opposed, and actively supported. A closer look at the early church’s complex development through these various situations may yield important lessons for us as we face widely diverging and rapidly changing societal situations today.

Join us as we explore this topic in a two-part lecture series! The seminar includes a 1-hour pre-recorded lecture to view prior to the event as well as live teaching and interaction with Dr. Fairbairn on the event date.

Lecture 1: “Foreigners and Exiles”
Getting Beyond the Sunday-school Version of the Story

Lecture 2: “From Heaven We Await a Savior”
Hoping in the Lord while Living in the Real World

God invites us to engage in our work imaginatively, weaving together meaning in the anchors of our administrative work: solving problems, leading meetings, and shaping culture (all while navigating to-lists, calendars, and a myriad of details!). This three-part workshop led by Dr. Jana Holiday will present a framework for imaginative capacity, as well as a theological reflection.

The workshop includes 1 hour of pre-recorded material to view prior to the event as well as live teaching and interaction with facilitator on the event date.
