Research Forums

Every semester the Center hosts a research forum at Gordon-Conwell highlighting trends in global religious adherence. Our current series is on religious diversity.

Spring 2017:

  • "A Unitarian Universalist Faith Journey," with Mandy Beal (M.Div., MSSW) of First Parish in Lincoln, MA. 

Fall 2016:

  • "The Perplexing Legacy of Mormons in American Christianity," with Kristine Haglund, former editor of Dialogue magazine. 

Spring 2016:

  • "Humanity's Goodness: A Buddhist Perspective in a Time of Great Challenges" with guest shastri Nick Kranz of the Shambala Buddhist Community. See video here.

Regular Center Projects

The Center for the Study of Global Christianity is involved in numerous on-going projects, producing publications in collaboration with other organizations around the world. Some of these include:

Annual Status of Global Mission table featured in the International Bulletin of Missionary Research.

Annual global and United States religion tables in the Encyclopedia Britannica.

Regular updating and maintenance of the World Christian Database and World Religion Database.

Partnership with the Pew Research Center's Religion & Public Life Project.

Speaking events and teaching courses at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Boston University School of Theology.
