Here is where we are now and what is to come:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><strong>PRESENT-DAY<\/strong><\/h1>\n<hr \/>\n<p>We have already\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>moved all our IT ticketing into this new system<\/em><\/span>. You can continue emailing tickets to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:tech@gcts.edu\">tech@gcts.edu<\/a>\u00a0and will notice the new email format.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can come\u00a0<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>directly to this new Support Portal<\/em><\/span>\u00a0 (<a href=\"https:\/\/support.gordonconwell.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">support.gordonconwell.edu<\/a>) to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>Access help articles.<\/em><\/span> This may solve your issue without you having to contact anyone! We have begun adding articles and will continue to build up this resource.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>Submit an issue<\/em>.<\/span> This new form provides more detail to help us route your ticket appropriately.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong>Log in at the top right corner with SSO (using your gordonconwell.edu email credentials) to access even more features:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>\u200b<\/strong><em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Submit a service request.<\/span>\u00a0<\/em>This new feature allows you to select a specific service from a detailed IT service catalog. This helps route your service request ticket efficiently.\u200b<\/li>\n<li>\u200b<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>View all your ticket details.<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>Approve requests<\/em>.<\/span> If you have been asked to approve a particular request as a supervisor, you can access and respond to your approvals in the portal. You may also respond to approvals via email.\u200b<\/li>\n<li>\u200b<span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>For HR:\u00a0<\/strong><em>Onboard and offboard employees.<\/em><\/span>\u00a0These forms will replace the old IT Personnel Change forms that HR and supervisors have accessed from our Technology Services website. HR will initiate the process by submitting the onboard or offboard form, the supervisor will be notified to complete their portion, and a workflow will generate all the tickets\/tasks needed to complete the IT onboarding or offboarding process.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1><strong>FUTURE<\/strong><\/h1>\n<hr \/>\n<p>As IT gets settled into this new system, we will begin <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>adding in other departments<\/em><\/span> (e.g. AV aka Media Services, Digital Education), who will have their own workspaces to respond to user requests.<\/p>\n<p>As other departments begin using the system, we will send <span style=\"color: #800000;\"><em>further announcements<\/em><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We hope that this new system will improve the level of service GCTS students, faculty, staff, and constituents receive from Technology Services and, eventually, beyond!\u00a0We are already finding it to be a major upgrade for IT ticketing.
