Women's Council

The Women’s Council provides scholarships for students and opportunities for fellowship among women who share an interest in the Seminary. Events focus on special music, speakers from the Gordon-Conwell community, students who benefit from the Women’s Council scholarship fund and a luncheon.

Over the years, many students have been the recipients of Women’s Council Scholarships. Sharon McLaughlin, M.Div. ’09, is one such student. She came to Gordon-Conwell from her home in Northern Ireland, having completed her undergraduate degree at The University of Cambridge. Sharon is currently serving on the pastoral staff of St. Ebbe’s Anglican Church in Oxford, England. She shared these reflections about the Women’s Council Scholarship:

“Put simply, I would not have been able to come to Gordon-Conwell, to have had this wonderful opportunity, if it weren’t for the Women’s Council Scholarship. I come from a ministry family, and so financially it would have been impossible. I am so thankful to God that He made the impossible, possible, through the Council Scholarship. I’m also deeply thankful for the women who chose to give out of the resources that God gave them, to bless me and to fuel God’s kingdom work in and through me. I count it a great responsibility and privilege to have been trained in biblical and theological studies, and will endeavor to use these resources for the honour of Christ and the good of His Church.  And so, from the bottom of my heart, I am thankful to the Women’s Council Scholarship and to all who have contributed. To God be all the Glory.”
