Hybrid Hybrid Event

The Gordon-Conwell Institute Fall Forum: Mental Health in Pastoral Counseling is hosted in partnership with the Pendleton Lectureship, Gordon-Conwell’s Master of Arts in Counseling program, and Gordon-Conwell’s Hamilton Dean’s office. The Forum is intended to provide pastors, practitioners, and students with insight into pastoral counseling models, caregiving responses, and methods of self-care.

12:00–1:15 p.m. | Dean’s Forum: Pastoral Counseling in the Asian American Context and Church

In this seminar, we will examine particular mental health concerns of Asian Americans and pastoral counseling issues in the Asian American context. Moreover, we will explore creative models of counseling that will encourage and equip our churches to increase mental health awareness and improve our caregiving systems. All are welcome, as we learn together and expand the caregiving roles of our churches, through the lens of Asian Americans.

2:00–3:30 p.m. | Caregiving Responses: A Personal Assessment and Tools for Pastors

In this seminar, we will examine different ways of caregiving responses and explore how we can improve how we care for others from a variety of contexts. Church leaders, teachers, and pastors who are interested in improving one’s mental and emotional health are welcome to participate in this conversation.

In-person Location: Alumni Hall, Hamilton Campus

Livestream option available for both sections.

Register by October 9
