Requirements
For any applicant for whom English is not your native language, Gordon-Conwell requires a TOEFL score of 92 or higher (100 or higher for ThM/PhD applicants) (IBT; the Gordon-Conwell code number is 3424). We also accept IELTS scores of 7.0 or higher (7.5 or higher for ThM/PhD applicants), or a Duolingo score of 115. Duolingo is not accepted for ThM/PhD applicants.
Applicants whose native language is not English, but who have completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in English through a university in the USA, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or Anglophone Canada do not need a TOEFL or equivalent test.
Do I need to submit an English language proficiency exam score with my application to Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary?
The Admissions Review Board reserves the right to require an official TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo Academic test score for any applicant if the submitted application does not demonstrate an adequate level of English language proficiency for master’s level education.
