Aishenbo Wu (MDiv)
I am an international student from mainland China. To pursue an MDiv at Gordon-Conwell, I moved to the USA five years ago. Thanks to the rich glory and blessing of God, I have graduated and am currently serving as an assistant pastor in California. I am passionate about equipping the saints with the foundation of our Christian faith and interpreting, dividing, and delivering the Word of God not according to human agenda but rightly in God’s will. Now, I am serving the Lord in San Francisco Bay Area. I hope to engage with the next generation, to have open conversations with them through all kinds of opportunities, especially this coming summer. My sense of call is to preserve the authentic faith in this generation and pass it on to the next generation.
Kevin Watkins (MDiv)
I began taking classes with Gordon-Conwell while on staff with InterVarsity. The training I got helped me better teach and train my students. It has been an 8 1/2 year journey to get to graduation. I am married with 3 small kids. I will be ordained as a pastor in my local church. I have loved this church for 17 years and I am excited to join the pastoral team.
Bledar Valca (MATS)
I first heard of Gordon-Conwell when I got my hands into a copy of Haddon Robinsons’ Biblical Preaching and through a friend who was connected to the Charlotte campus. I serve in the country of Albania along with my wife of 17 years and three kids (ages 5-13). In ministry terms, I have done anything and everything, typical of mission churches, but feel a call toward teaching and Christian publishing. As I have ventured into a DMin in Bible Translation, I hope that between ministry with my local church and work in Bible Translation, I can serve my fellow countrymen with the Gospel.
Erin Stewart (MACC)
After working as a social worker in the counter-trafficking field, I came to Gordon-Conwell to learn how to serve others in the role of a clinical counselor. The combination of theology and psychology was paramount to me in my training. My husband and I hope to support missionaries through our studies. I will begin my counseling career by serving children, teens, and young adults through clinical work while providing mental health consultation for my church in Charlotte, North Carolina. After I become fully licensed, I am considering what it may look like to move overseas to support long-term cross cultural workers and their families through counseling.
Leigh Redmond (MACL)
I began studying at Gordon-Conwell in the summer of 2018. I’ve served in Christian ministry for 16 years and really wanted to have a biblical foundation for the work I’m doing. I live and work in Boone, NC. I pursued seminary to establish a biblical foundation for my work. I serve in a learning and development capacity with a passion for the body of Christ. I am a Gallup Strengths Finder coach as well as a DiSC and Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team facilitator.
Ann Maouyo (MACT)
After college, I served in student ministry in French-speaking Africa and Quebec. Since returning to Baltimore in 1995, I have worked as a curriculum writer and staff editor for school reform through Johns Hopkins University. My husband, Djik, and I have three adult children and two grandchildren. I enrolled at Gordon-Conwell to become equipped to serve the church more actively in teaching and/or writing upon retiring from my “day job.” While I believe my primary gifts are in teaching and writing, I am also passionate about sharing the good news of God’s grace with those who have not yet received it. I am not sure what my next steps are, but hope to find opportunities for more targeted ministry, whether through the local church, teaching, or Christian publishing.
Jonathan Hunter (MABS)
The Lord’s hand was on me in high school leading me into vocational ministry. After Bible college, I spent eight years in missionary service in Central America. After four years of on-field service, I began taking courses at Gordon-Conwell through Digital Live, beginning in January 2017. My three children (11, 8, and 4) have been an immense joy to me throughout my studies – but I could never have finished without the selfless devotion and constant encouragement of my beautiful wife, Maggie. In the Fall, my family and I will move to Scotland as I begin PhD work in New Testament at the University of St. Andrews. Our plan is to return to Latin America to work as a missional scholar through United World Mission’s “Theological Education Initiative.” I hope to be involved in raising the level of Christian scholarship and nurture the contagious and devoted inquiry of Scripture that my professors nurtured in me.
Anna Huffman (MAOT)
I came to Gordon-Conwell through the partnership with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Now I am working full time as the Director of Student Success at Gordon-Conwell based out of the Charlotte campus. I am newly married to Jonathan Huffman and I’m excited to start our new life together as I wrap up my time at Gordon-Conwell. I hope to continue helping those called to ministry complete their education at Gordon-Conwell as we expand the student success team. As I wrap up my Old Testament thesis, I am prayerfully considering future education as well.
Bobby Gordon (MDiv)
Through my experience in college ministry, I came to desire and feel a particular calling toward teaching, equipping, and edifying the people of God for the work of ministry. Further leaning into that calling led me to realize a call into pastoral ministry, particularly alongside the Anglican Church in North America. Gordon-Conwell has been a very special and helpful place for my wife and I as we both pursue our graduate studies (she is finishing PA school). I am currently in the process of ordination into the priesthood in the ACNA. I desire to pastor and teach within that role, hopefully bridging a gap between the liturgical structures and rhythms of the Prayer Book and our cities.
Leslie Garrote (MATS)
I was a K-12 teacher for the first 15 years of my career. After moving to Florida, I felt called to begin seminary. My time at Gordon-Conwell has been both restorative and left me feeling equipped to service the Church through the ministry of teaching. Long term, I hope to serve the Church in a pastoral role and scholar.
Kelsea Fox (MACC)
Prior to coming to Gordon-Conwell, I worked in college ministry and loved the meaningful interactions I was able to have. The MACC program was the perfect fit for my gifts to serve, sit with and love individuals, alongside my desire to utilize clinical knowledge and to practice from a theologically integrated framework. I am incredibly grateful for my time at Gordon-Conwell. After being well-trained and equipped through the MACC program, I plan to serve clients through mental health counseling in the Boone area. I am looking forward to providing services in the High Country, where access to mental health counseling remains limited.
Joshua Fellrath (MDiv)
I have been married to my beautiful wife, Rebecca, since July of 2011. We have four biological children and two foster children. My background was in sales and marketing before I answered the call to ministry; so I have an Associate Degree in Applied Business and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing. God unexpectedly called me into full-time ministry in April of 2019, and I have served ever since in a dual role as the Children’s Ministry Director and Director of Public Relations at Kirkmont Church in Beavercreek, Ohio. My hope for the near future is to be ordained in the EPC and assigned a pastoral role at Kirkmont. I expect to begin pursuing doctoral studies in ministry, theology, or philosophy sometime in the next 3-5 years. Eventually, I hope to become a seminary professor.
Erin Curtinsmith (MANT)
My family and I are from Australia. I am married to David and we have four children, Jade (18), Paige (15), Mia (14), and Luca (11). I desired to study at Gordon-Conwell when I noticed that many of the theologians that I admired were either teaching or had graduated from there. I began my Gordon-Conwell journey from Australia as a distance student. At that time, I was working as a young adults pastor in my local church and I desired to deepen my knowledge and understanding of Scripture. After some time, I moved to the US and continued to study at the Charlotte campus. During my time in the US, I have enjoyed working as a Greek TA with Dr. Wheaton and being part of a foundation that works in Haiti. I am currently working with a team of people on a seminary start up in Cap-Haitian, Haiti. My next steps are to apply for a PhD program, so that I can teach and continue in research. My work in Haiti will continue, but I also hope to partner with seminaries across the globe where there is need.
Chad Burgbacher (MDiv)
My wife and I, and our four children, are serving as full time pastors at Destination Church (AG) in Jacksonville, FL. We came out of a background in youth and missions ministry. I came to Gordon-Conwell to take advantage of the extension site here in Jacksonville and am grateful for the opportunity to study at the school. As a family, we are currently working on getting our kids through high school and college. After graduating I will be re-doubling my efforts at our church and hope to continue auditing classes from time to time. I am excited about the next phase of ministry and open to the Lord about continuing in our education.
Steven Petersheim (MDiv)
Because I felt called to serve the church, I pursued my MDiv after already being established as a professor of literature. My wife and our four children enjoyed the experience in Hamilton and made many good friends at the seminary and at our church in the town of Hamilton. This semester I accepted a position as Associate Professor of English at a Christian college, Toccoa Falls College, in North Georgia. I look forward to pursuing ministry “on the side” either at the college (affiliated with Christian & Missionary Alliance) or more directly through the church.
Alaina Battaglia (MDiv)
Before Gordon-Conwell I had served in various capacities within the local church and community. I have felt called to vocational ministry, specifically as it relates to the communication of Scripture, accompanying people through their pain, and bridge-building across ethnic, gender, and denominational lines. While I am not certain exactly what shape my pulpit will take in this next season, I sense a call to invest in college communities and be a part of teaching and preaching the gospel that transforms our lives and communities holistically. I hope to help form connections and participate in people encountering the love and truth of a personal knowledge with God. Simply put, I look forward to continuing to grow in love of God and love of people.
Ricardo Romano (MACO)
Before seminary, I worked biovocationally in ministry and in the hospitality industry focusing on Eco-Tourism in Mexico. I came to Gordon-Conwell, obeying the call of God to learn about biblical Hebrew and Greek and preaching, to gain a deeper understanding of the Word of God, and to accomplish God’s purpose of my life to preach and teach the His Word.
Sophonie Compere (MDiv)
I am married, and I am a father of 4 children. I have been in ministry for more than 20 years. After completing my bachelor’s in theology in my home country, I came to Gordon-Conwell for the MDiv while doing ministry in Boston. I am also an accountant. My plan is to work to develop the church that I launched in 2019 and to continue my studies for a DMin. I have a passion for leadership and discipleship, and I would like to develop a discipleship plan for my community.
Ethan May (MDiv)
I grew up as a pastor’s kid in Tulsa, Oklahoma. After feeling a call towards ministry, Gordon-Conwell was a seminary that drew my attention with its commitment to practical biblical training and multi-denominational makeup. After getting accepted to Gordon-Conwell, my wife, Caila, and I got married and moved to Massachusetts the very next day. I’ve loved my time at here and am thankful for all the ways it has blessed me and prepared me for vocational ministry. After graduation, I will continue in my role as Pastor of Community Life and Outreach at Highrock North Shore Covenant Church in Beverly, MA. I feel called to the local church, and I’m excited to see the Kingdom grow here on the North Shore.
Grateful Itiowe (MAGL)
I am a lawyer called to the Nigerian Bar. I practiced law, then went on to do an MBA in Law and Management in the UK, and returned to Nigeria to be on the Faculty at the University of Nigeria Enugu. I have had a heart for missions and mercy ministry; in the heat of the pandemic, the Lord used the ‘GIFT Foundation,’ an NGO I founded to be a blessing to so many. Given the many leadership roles the Lord had committed to my care, I desired to learn more about maximizing my calling and being my best in society and the Kingdom of God, which is why I chose to come to Gordon-Conwell. I desire to get a job here in the USA that will allow me to keep serving the Lord passionately and maximizing my skills and my experiences, and also be able to give back to my home country while at it. I hope to see my NGO (Great Innovators Foundation for Transformation) grow to the point of starting a non-profit keeping but profit-making Agricultural Farming community for the needy, undeveloped, and unreached people in different parts of the world that will run as a multiple skills acquisition hub that trains participants with creative poverty alleviation skills in a Christ-centered atmosphere.
Adrienne Christian (MDiv)
Before attending seminary, I taught High School Spanish until I was called to be a full-time missionary in the Dominican Republic. While serving there, I discerned God leading me to serve in ministry long term. My desire to be more equipped biblically led me to seminary at Gordon-Conwell. God has given me a passion to walk alongside people as they learn about Jesus and grow in their faith. Lord willing, I will be moving to Atlanta after graduation and hope to serve in the local church.
Ellie Wiener (MAOT & MABL)
Enfolded in Christian community from birth and steeped the language of Scripture, I am acutely aware that my faith and calling are received, a gracious gift from the Lord through his people. Proximate to the infectious passion of many godly teachers, the Lord has nurtured in me a growing desire to study deeply and convey compellingly his Word. In particular, I came to Gordon-Conwell after an undergraduate degree in Biblical Studies hoping to hone theological adeptness and research skills which would enable further work in the Old Testament and biblical theology. In whatever external form this ends up taking, I desire in the longer term future to be teaching God’s Word, hopefully being a bridge between the rigor of the academy and the ministry of the local church. En route, in the shorter term, I aim to pursue a PhD in Old Testament at the University of Cambridge.
Courtney Vereide (MDiv)
I grew up in Vienna, VA, where I spent many formative years at Vienna Presbyterian Church. For my undergraduate, I studied English at Elon University in NC. After college, I served in a youth ministry position before the Lord called me to seminary in 2018. My draw to seminary was to be more fully equipped to serve the people of God! I received the Parish Pulpit Preaching Fellowship, and so will be studying towards a ThM in Preaching in Scotland next year. When I return, the call on my heart is to serve in local church ministry, particularly in the areas of teaching/preaching, discipleship, and pastoral care.
Eun-Sun Grace Lee (MDiv)
When I first applied to Gordon-Conwell, all I knew was that I wanted to devote my life to missions. While it was not in my plans, God miraculously opened the doors for me to move overseas and pursue seminary education earlier than I expected. Every day I feel so blessed to be here. During my time in Gordon-Conwell, my eyes have been exposed to the world of Global Christianity. My hope is to grow in knowledge and experience within this field, whatever that may look like.
Corbyn Whiles (MDiv)
I am from Oklahoma and Pennsylvania and came to Gordon-Conwell after completing my bachelor’s at Grove City College. My wife and I were drawn to the campus after visiting in 2018 and experiencing the immense kindness and love of everyone here. I felt God’s call to ministry after my high school education and have pursued it since. My wonderful wife, Salena, and I are expecting our first child (a boy) in mid-June 2022. I am hoping to enroll in the ThM at Gordon-Conwell but am still sorting through a focus. I am also seeking ministry jobs with various churches and hope to get plugged into a role soon. My long-term future involves both head pastoral ministry and teaching.
Luke Rynbrandt (MDiv)
My faith was shaped early in life through my parents, friends in youth group, and mentors at church. It was during college that I made my faith my own and eventually felt a strong call to pursue pastoral ministry. After spending three years in youth ministry, my wife and I discerned that it was a wise time to pursue seminary, and we both fell in love with Gordon-Conwell. Our time here together has been wonderful, and we are excited to be expecting our first child shortly after we graduate. I intend to pursue pastoral ministry in a local church setting for the rest of my life, unless the Lord redirects me at some point down the road. I feel a clear and strong sense of calling to that ministry, and to preaching the grace of Jesus.
Jung-Ah Lim (MDiv)
I have been a missionary in Cambodia, and for my Sabbatical year, I came back to Boston where I have lived since 2001. It has been a wonderful journey to study in Gordon-Conwell and meet many friends and colleagues through discipleship, intercessory prayers, and worship. My first daughter will graduate college on the same day in May 2022 as me and my second daughter will be junior in college in the fall of 2022. I will go back to Korea first and stay about one year to be ready to go back to mission field.
Bellanira Rynbrandt (MACO)
I am originally from Mexico, but I was raised in Laredo — a Texas border-town. I graduated from Wheaton College where I met my husband Luke. After college we moved to Laredo where did three years of vocational youth ministry before coming to Gordon-Conwell. Our time in Laredo affirmed our desire for further training to be better able to serve underserved communities. We are now expecting our first baby in August! The thing that has most shaped my personal and professional goals is my hometown of Laredo, Texas. Laredo’s nearly 96% Latino population has a 26.7% poverty rate and is considered a Medically Underserved Area. My hope it to one day serve the mental health care needs of underserved Latino communities, to do research as advocacy for this population, to train future clinical counselors, to work and serve in these communities, and to work toward the furtherment of culturally appropriate mental health services for underserved and immigrant populations.
Christian Schmitt (MDiv)
I first began to sense a call to teach and preach as a pastor while studying German and Economics at a secular college in Vermont and came to Gordon-Conwell immediately after graduation. Since then, I have deepened my passion for the field of homiletics and married my wife Aria. After my wife finishes her degree next year and I take something of a sabbatical, I hope to earn a PhD and spend the rest of my life as a preacher. I certainly would enjoy teaching in, or writing for, an academic setting as well, but this is more of a secondary calling for me.
Michael Ubac (MAGL)
Pursuing a bi-vocational calling for over two decades, I have been fighting corruption and championing press freedom as a Filipino journalist. My ministry involvement include evangelism, preaching, missions, and discipleship, sharing the redemptive love of Jesus around the Philippines and abroad. My worldview further expanded when I obtained my master’s degree in International Relations from Harvard University in 2016. Answering God’s call, I came to the United States in 2021 to pursue theological education. The Master of Arts in Global Leadership (MAGL) has opened new avenues for me to hone my writing, analytical, and leadership skills, further enriching my faith. I was led by the Lord to Gordon-Conwell–a long way from my beloved home, the Philippines—to pursue theological education that is centered on Christ’s atoning sacrifice and the empowering work of the Holy Spirit. My next ministry context involves being an ordained pastor and credentialed teacher in keeping with the mandate of the Great Commission. My future plans include progressing to the Doctor of Ministry leadership track. I think the weight of theological and biblical studies should be brought to bear on actual experience and practice of our faith. How are we to become change agents, as salt and light, to a world that is unraveling? That is the mission.
Titus Sam (MACO & MDiv)
The addition of the MACO to my MDiv degree has been a blessing to my calling, identity, and ministry. I started my MDiv journey at Gordon-Conwell in the Fall of 2019 and added MACO in the Spring of 2020 after a time of prayer and conversation with professors and fellow students. I praise the Lord for bringing me to Gordon-Conwell to be equipped for what God is calling me to do nationally and internationally. I hope to complete my hours for counseling licensure and pursue local church ministry experience. Following that, my prayer is to start a church planting ministry and create missions connections to offer assistance and training to those serving in South East Asia.
Abraham Goh (MDiv)
Originally from Singapore, I felt called to full-time ministry while engaged in missions. I attribute my desire to come to Gordon-Conwell to the books written by alumni and faculty. I intend to do a ThM in the Fall semester, and then return to Singapore after that. In the far future, my hope is to teach in Asia.
Daniel McAuley (MDiv)
My first steps in vocational ministry began with serving as a missionary for two years in East Africa. From there I felt like God was leading me back to the US to pursue a seminary education, ultimately leading to Gordon-Conwell. While overseas I met my wife, Liz, and we got married during my first year at Gordon-Conwell. During my time here, I have been pushed to grow in my knowledge and faith by amazing professors, friends, and mentors that have poured into me during my time here. I hope to serve the Church through pastoral ministry in the Northeast. My wife and I feel called to serve in the church in a more post Christian context. We hope to find a church where we can grow and work together with the members to be the Body of Christ in a changing world.
Tyler Pedersen (MDiv)
My love and passion for theology blossomed while studying classics at the University of Miami. When I wasn’t doing schoolwork, I was reading theology or engaging in rich theological discussions with my close friends in the church small groups I was involved in. I felt called to pursue academic study of theology at Gordon-Conwell while working as a freelance musician in Nashville, TN. I believe God has gifted me and is calling me to teach and preach His Word. I am in the process currently of discerning how I can best serve His Church in this way, whether it be in the context of the local church or in Christian education.
Foster Mann (MDiv)
I came to ministry directly out of undergrad, knowing that God was calling me to ministry but having absolutely no idea what that was supposed to look like. My eyes were opened in seminary, and God revealed in me a passion to help provide seminary level education in non-seminary contexts. I have now been married for six months and my wife, and I are now discerning how best to serve God in our lives. I plan on earning a ThM in the Old Testament to better equip myself to serve God better. My wife and I currently serve a refuge ministry where we have been blessed by relationships with many Afghan refugees. Our current passion is learning how to aid the church in reclaiming its duty to love the strangers in its midst.
Yuxin Fu (MACO)
Originally from China, I came here as an international student. I was called into counseling because of my interest as a helping professional and seeing the mental health need in Chinese churches. I’m currently married with my husband George and am living in Brookline, MA. I’m passionate about serving the Asian American and Asian immigrant families around issues of wellness and resilience. I’m also seeking to become an advocate and connector for the Asian population in need for mental health care via counseling, research, community engagement and development of services or programs to promote culturally appropriate care.
Jared Larson (MDiv)
I was raised in a Mormon polygamist cult and at thirty-years-old, my wife and I converted to Christianity through the writings of C.S. Lewis, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Martin Luther. With our little family, we left the only life we had ever known, and joined a small Christ-centered church in Mesa, Arizona. Feeling the call to ministry, I began to apply to seminaries across the country, but with only a formal education of up to eighth-grade public school, no one would accept me. Gordon-Conwell however, had a Diploma in Urban Ministry program at CUME that allowed me to enroll without an undergraduate degree, and upon completion, be accepted into the MDiv program at the Hamilton campus. Having experienced such a radical transformation of my own identity through the gospel, I feel a strong ministry calling that speaks to the identity crises of the American Christian and the entanglement of their Christianity with their American identity. Where this leads me is in God’s hands. I have currently been accepted into an associate pastor role at a church in Augusta, Maine, and have a strong intention to pursue a career in writing, as well as eventually continue down the academic path toward a PhD.
Danielle DeLong (MATH & MAIS)
I came to seminary to acquire the academic tools to be able to resource the church through biblical content and theological curriculum. I started in at Gordon-Conwell with the MATH degree initially, but felt the Lord leading me to add on an MAIS degree as well. My four years at Gordon-Conwell have led me to recognizing a strong sense of call to take up the fight of justice and serve in justice ministry. I am unsure as to what particular organization I will settle in, but can picture an organization like Amirah (I’m a current intern there), IJM, World Relief, Compassion, etc. While lots of details are up in the air still, I know this is the sort of work I’ll be involved in.
Grace Hampton (MACO)
God has blessed me with a wonderful, supportive husband, and we have two children. As an evangelist at my home church where I have attended since childhood, it has always been my passion to help individuals within the community through difficult moments. As a result, I took heed to the call of God to attend Gordon-Conwell’s Counseling program to obtain my MACO degree. I have a dream to assist in the healing and restoration process of hurting individuals who encounter various struggles mentally and emotionally as a result of traumatic experiences. Attending Gordon-Conwell has given me the academic tools needed to pursue my dream. I am confident that God will do His work in me. The following scripture has strengthened me during my studies: Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6)
Sharon Ellis (MAR)
I was born in Canada, grew up in Pakistan, and spent the majority of my adult life living in either Africa or Asia. As a storyteller and filmmaker, I believe in the power of truth, beauty, and goodness to impact people’s lives and desire to tell stories of peace and reconciliation in regions of the world that are in need of it. My time at Gordon-Conwell has served to provide me an opportunity to learn of other religions and practice ecumenism within the broader Christian faith. In the near future I will be moving to West Asia and pursuing Arabic language studies to better equip me in telling stories of peace and hope.
Bennett Pope (MDiv)
I grew up in a Christian home in Minneapolis, demonstrating an interest in the faith from a young age. This interest was confirmed for me when I began to study theology in my undergraduate program at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. In an effort to continue my theological education, I came to Gordon-Conwell, and now look forward to the future that God has in store for me! I find my sense of call not in a career, but in a place. Having spent some time away from the city of Spokane, Washington, I now recognize that Spokane is a place where I see God’s heart with unique clarity. I’m sure that the form of my ministry will change over the years, but I know where I’ll be!
David Hannan (MABL & MAOT)
I am from St. Albans, West Virginia. After becoming a Christian at age 14, upon discovering that English Bibles came from Hebrew and Greek manuscripts, I wanted to learn those languages (and more!) to understand the texts therein and teach people about them. I completed my bachelor’s degree in Statistics and Creative Writing at Marshall University and after a study abroad experience at Oxford, the calling I had previously felt to pursue pastoral ministry transformed into becoming a researcher and educator. That calling and love of languages brought me to Gordon-Conwell where my calling was further clarified into secular academia in teaching and research. I hope to teach Hebrew Bible or ancient Near Eastern history and religion at the graduate or undergraduate university levels. As such, I will begin a PhD in Ancient Near Eastern Studies at Harvard University beginning in the Fall and continue to seek opportunities to teach and present research through the Society of Biblical Literature and the American Society of Oriental Research and more.
Ashley Park (MACO)
Coming to Gordon-Conwell has been such a valuable and blessed experience that has shaped my life in such a huge way. I’ve learned more about my identity in Christ and it’s helped me to grow in faith and in character. It is also at this school where my calling to help and to be an agent of healing for the kingdom (through counseling) was solidified. Currently, I am in a counseling internship at a secular site, and I see the widespread need for emotional/mental health for children. I’m hoping to get my licensure in counseling and then serving my community and the adolescents at my church.
Joel McQueen (MDiv)
I’m married to my beautiful woman wife Anastasia, and we have a one-year-old son, Silas. I’m currently pastoring in Buffalo, Minnesota and just finishing my Gordon-Conwell degree online. I plan to be here in Buffalo as a pastor for a long time and raise our family here.
Akash Ahuja (MDiv)
I moved to the north shore for Gordon College and have been working in youth ministry ever since graduating. I have been able to stay on staff at my church while completing my program at Gordon-Conwell. Soon, I’ll be getting married and entering into full-time youth ministry! I hope to continue to serve the youth in a local church setting, with an emphasis on developing leadership in teenagers and empowering volunteers to mentor and support the next generation.
Wenya Yang (MDiv)
I became a Christian in 2016 and got the calling from the Lord to serve Him. I came to seminary in Jan 2019 for MDiv study and my ministry calling is teaching Bible to Chinese people. I am now studying Biblical Geography and History in Jerusalem University College and preparing for applying for PhD work in Hebrew Scripture.
Eduardo Bonilla (MDiv & MACO)
My wife Sara, our children Mael (9) and Gia (6), and I came to Gordon-Conwell in 2018 and cannot be more grateful for such an open door. Our ministry calling took place in Denmark, where we lived for almost ten years before embarking on this rewarding seminary journey. The Lord called us to minister, love, and pour out into the lives of pastoral leaders and their families in the area. We want to motivate them to experience mental, emotional, and relational healing through Christ as their “Bedrock.” Gordon-Conwell has not only been the ideal place to equip ourselves for the challenges ahead but has also become a priceless gift that we will treasure forever!
Lisa Clay (MANT & MACO)
I will be married 18 years this coming May, during which time my husband and I have been blessed with three children. After serving abroad for ten years with my husband the Lord opened doors for me to study counseling and the New Testament at Gordon-Conwell. My time here has stretched and strengthened me in ways that I see coming to fruition every day in both my counseling career and volunteer work at church (as well as in my family life!) I trust all the seeds planted here will continue to bloom throughout my earthly journey. I hope to continue counseling, earn licensure, and eventually work or volunteer in counseling services to those in ministry at home and abroad. My goal is to consistently make the most of teaching and volunteer opportunities that come my way through my home church. I have also not closed the door on the possible pursuit of a doctoral degree, yet!
