Gordon-Conwell is committed to maximizing your flexibility to complete a counseling degree.
We know that some students prefer in-person classes, while others want a counseling degree with more online options. Through a modality we call “Digital Live” (using the Zoom platform), students at Gordon-Conwell have the option of attending classes in-person (“Live”) or online (“Digital”). Students attending digitally and students attending in-person both participate simultaneously with the same instructor, ensuring that the experience of online students is similar to the experience of in-person students.
Whether attending online or in-person, all students attend classes in real-time with a live instructor at scheduled times throughout the course. To accommodate current work and ministry commitments, classes are offered in the evenings and on the weekends, and you may complete your counseling practicum and internship in your local area.
The MACC is a cohort-based program with intakes in the Fall and Spring semesters. To provide you additional flexibility, you can choose a 2-year, 3-year, 4-year, or 5-year cohort to complete your program.
In accordance with CACREP accreditation standards, the MACC program provides in-person experiences to assist students with the development of clinical skills and professional dispositions necessary for counseling. Each year, students participate in a 3-day residency on-site at our Charlotte campus. Additionally, there are two clinical skills classes that require one weekend of in-person participation: CO 540 (Helping Relationships) and CO 851 (Exit Evaluation). Please reach out to our admissions counselors to discuss the details of our in-person requirements.
