Free – $25

Join the Gordon-Conwell Master of Arts in Christian Counseling (MACC) department in exploring the key barriers that impact health and wellness in BIPOC communities and how providers can better support these populations.
Learning Objectives
- Identify how implicit bias, structural inequalities, and trauma from discrimination can impact the treatment experiences of individuals from BIPOC populations.
- Participants will consider how the limited number of BIPOC mental health professionals and healthcare providers can result in challenges for individuals from BIPOC communities trying to access care from culturally responsive and sensitive providers.
- Participants will consider how high costs of services, lack of insurance coverage, and limited transportation are factors that providers need to consider when serving BIPOC populations.
