The word “resilience” may be absent from the biblical text, but Scripture is replete with examples of leaders and ordinary people who demonstrate resilience in the face of uncertainty. In these challenging times, it can be hard to remain faithful and endure in the face of pressures to follow the “crowd,” both in the workplace and in the public square.
Join us on April 25th at 12 p.m. in Alumni Hall or on the livestream for an honest discussion with two senior Christian business leaders who face ethical dilemmas every day working in finance, and how the God-given gift of Sabbath can be a practical strategy to build resilience grounded in faith. A free lunch will be provided.
This event is hosted by Gordon-Conwell’s Mockler Center for Faith and Ethics, whose mission is to explore and promote biblical ethics, values, and insights for today’s workplaces and to bring helpful insights and experiences from workplace laity to the church and its leadership. In December, the Mockler Center held a panel discussion titled “A Community Conversation on Rest and Renewal in Anxious Times.” Explore the topic of Sabbath further by listening to the audio recording and reading the notes from that event here.
