Come learn from therapist Migum Gweon, LMFT, as she provides an overview of common mental health issues within the Korean American church community and addresses ways that pastors and church leaders can respond and support their congregation members. Using an integrated response with both spiritual and therapeutic components, themes of boundaries and best practices will be explored. Migum will also host an experimental workshop and interactive time, using a framework of Restoration Therapy developed by Dr. Terry Hargrave, in which participants will explore how to stay grounded when trying to have difficult conversations; identifying emotional triggers; and learning how to self-regulate. Migum will teach the Havening Technique, which is a touch therapy tool that helps with emotional de-escalation.
