Gordon-Conwell’s mission is “to advance Christ’s Kingdom in every sphere of life by equipping Church leaders to think theologically, engage globally and live biblically.” One way we pursue this is by equipping students to become knowledgeable of God’s inerrant Word and competent in its interpretation, proclamation, and application in the contemporary world.

Therefore, we are excited about a new resource that will help students do just that. With contributions from a faculty and an alumnus, The New Testament in Color: A Multiethnic Bible Commentary, provides commentary with high academic standards from multicultural evangelical perspectives.

Dr. Mateus de Campos, dean of the Hamilton campus and associate professor of New Testament, wrote the commentary for 2 Peter and Jude. In addition to his role as editor, Esau McCaulley (MDiv ’05) wrote the introduction, the section on African American Biblical Interpretation, and the commentary for Ephesians.

According to the publisher, InterVarsity Press, “The New Testament in Color is a one-volume commentary on the New Testament written by a multiethnic team of scholars holding orthodox Christian beliefs. Each scholar brings exegetical expertise coupled with a unique interpretive lens to illuminate the ways social location and biblical interpretation work together.”
