Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary is expanding its graduate certificate offerings with the launch of three online programs with concentrations in Shepherd Care, Church Planting, and Theology and the Arts. Each certificate consists of six courses (18 credits) and is designed to equip Christians for faithful ministry in specialized areas of service and leadership.

The Graduate Certificate in Shepherd Care prepares Christians to offer compassionate, confidential support to pastors, missionaries, and other ministry leaders facing personal and vocational challenges. Recognizing the unique pressures that often accompany ministry, the program trains students to provide wise and trustworthy care rooted in the shepherding example of Christ.

The Graduate Certificate in Church Planting equips students to establish and lead healthy, mission-minded churches that engage their communities with the gospel. The program combines theological reflection with practical ministry strategies to prepare church planters and ministry teams to navigate local cultures faithfully, lead new congregations effectively, and cultivate vibrant gospel witness. The program is designed for church planters, pastors, elders, deacons, missionaries, and others involved in church-planting movements.

The Graduate Certificate in Theology and the Arts explores the relationship between Christian faith and artistic expression. Through engagement with visual art, literature, film, music, theater, and architecture, students develop a biblical and theological framework for understanding the role of creativity in discipleship, ministry, and mission. The program is designed for artists, pastors, ministry leaders, and anyone seeking to integrate theological reflection with artistic vocation and appreciation.

All three graduate certificates are available 100% online, giving students serving in a wide range of ministry and professional contexts, flexible access to graduate-level theological education and full participation in the Gordon-Conwell community. Apply online by July 31 to get started this fall.
