Dr. Jeffrey Arthurs and Gordon-Conwell Alumni Featured in New Series, Preaching Biblical Literature
In the preface to the new Preaching Biblical Literature series, co-editors Dr. Jeffrey Arthurs, Robinson Chair of Preaching & Communication, and Dr. Kenneth Langley address the essential question of how preachers can be biblical in form as well as in content. In small, accessible volumes each edition presents the reader with methods and strategies for preaching the various genres of the Bible. “We want to give preachers recipes for sermons that are as varied as the literature in the Bible itself,” they write.
In addition to co-editing the series, Dr. Arthurs authored the most recent volume, How to Preach Narrative. This resource explores six strategies to help preachers engage with and teach from narrative texts in a way that honors the original meaning and engages modern audiences.
