Dr. Wesley Vander Lugt Introduces Classics of Modern Protestant Theology in New Book
Dr. Wesley Vander Lugt, adjunct professor of theology and acting director of The Leighton Ford Initiative in Theology, the Arts, and Gospel Witness at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, has released Modern Protestant Theology: Introducing the Classics, a new volume introducing readers to fifteen influential works of nineteenth- and twentieth-century Protestant theology. Bringing together well-known figures such as Friedrich Schleiermacher, Charles Hodge, and Karl Barth with voices such as Dorothy Sayers and Kwame Bediako, the book broadens the traditional account of modern Protestant theology and its development.
Each chapter introduces the theologian and historical context behind a classic work, identifies its central themes, and considers its influence on the development of Protestant theology. Written as an accessible entry point into a complex theological landscape, Modern Protestant Theology equips students and Christian leaders to engage some of the significant texts and thinkers that have shaped Protestant theology over the past two centuries.
